Congratulations Pija!

Picture book artist Pija Lindenbaum has been awarded the Emil Prize for her brilliant and personal way of, with humor and originality, merging text and illustration into a unique entity.

Pija Lindenbaum counts as one of Sweden’s most important picture book artists. She has created several books, many of which have been translated into several languages. Among them, the books about Brigdet and her latest sleep-over-thriller Siv sover vilse.

The Emil Prize is presented yearly for eccellent work in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren by Smålands Akademi. The award total is 30 000 SEK.

Also, fans of Pija Lindenbaum in Stockholm will have an unique opportunity to see her original illustrations this fall. The exhibitition will open at Nacka Konsthall on Saturday and feature illustrations from many of her books.
