Bad News by Kitty Crowther

Founded by Nicolas Robel in 1997, B.ü.L.b comix publishes limited edition, tiny books in tiny sets, collected in handmade boxes. Since we first heard of B.ü.L.b comix, we have completely fallen in love with the creativity and craftsmanship of their work.

When we first heard that this year’s recipient of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award Kitty Crowther had participated, it came as a surprise: There was a published book by Kitty Crowther that we had not seen before! This rather unknown book, by Kitty Crowther is called Bad News and is published in SetV in the tiniest format 2w.

Bad News measures only 3.5 x 4.5 cm and has 11 folds. This leaves 22 pages for Kitty Crowther to tell her surreal story of a woman in distress who digs a hole to escape. She’s reborn as Eve, without Adam, but with a new friend … the snake!

It can’t be found in many bookstores, nor through your regular internet retailer. The easiest way to get hold of this collectable is to order it directly from the B.ü.L.b website. But you better be fast, the sets have a tendency to sell out …

Apart from Kitty Crowther, the other artist participating in SetV are Jad Fair (USA), Gregory Chapuisat (CH), Jim Drain (USA) and Ivan Brunetti (USA).

Thanks a lot for your kind words. We were delighted to hear from Kitty that she was awarded by your prestigious award, which we didn’t know about.
Our books aren’t distributed in Sweden but some people expressed enthusiasm as well and ordered a selection of books. You can spot where to find these books in Sweden using our online bookstore database:

By the way, we’ve just received the latest 2wBOX Set W. The page is online, where you can sneak preview the covers. The BOX should be available through our online shop soon.
