Visit to Tamer

The 2009 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award Winner is the Tamer Institute for Community Education, working to promote reading and children’s literature on the West Bank and in Gaza. In the fall of 2009, two Swedish librarians visited Tamer to learn more about how they work with libraries, schools, and alternative education. Their blog – in Swedish- is a great read for those who are looking for inspiration in the field of reading promotion.

Above, Renad Qubbaj of the Tamer Institute speaks at the “Library of Congress” in Stockholm during the Award Week in May 2009.
