The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is the World’s Largest Children’s Literature Award. 5 000 000 SEK (approx 700 000 USD/ 500 000 EUR) are awarded each year to one or more authors, illustrators, promoters of reading or oral storytellers.
The Award aims to strenghten and increase interest in children’s and young adult literature world-wide, and to strengthen children’s rights at a global level. The attention garnered by the award leads to more translations and to more children having access to high-quality literature.
With the new Award blog we want to make it easier for you to keep track of our work! Add it to your RSS for quick updates on upcoming events, participation at fairs, reminders to nominate – and of course: all the info on the winner or winners of the 2010 award!
